Peabody Awards

The George Foster Peabody Awards were established in 1941 to recognize distinguished achievement and meritorious service by broadcast media. Winners are chosen in the spring by the 16-member Peabody Board.

Make a Wish, the children's TV show hosted by Tom Chapin, won in 1971. The awards committee cited the show for "understanding and respect for the intelligence of the youthful audience".
